Description:
This is a very interesting and unusual salad plant. Grown both for its white, spindle-shaped, very firm and crisp roots (ready for use from October right through winter) and its numerous leaves. Mix the very fine seed with sand and sow in very shallow drills in May and June and thin out to 4 ins. apart. It is also an introduced ornamental wild flower with panicles of small, funnel-shaped, blue or white flowers in July and August. 2-3 ft.
