Description:From sandy stream banks of Brazil and Surinam comes this versatile, attractive and ornamental, evergreen shrub. With aromatic, small, two inch, glossy green leaves, coppery when young, it bears fragrant, creamy-white flowers. These are followed by very distinctive fluted fruits – a bit like a tomato with eight deep ribs. It makes a splendid pot plant, particularly when displaying its abundant, showy red fruits: moreover, it tolerates shearing and can thus be tailor-made to suit your conservatory. The fruits are edible, juicy and aromatic with a spicy acid flavour and are delicious eaten out of hand or made into jams and pies. The leaves can be used as a tea or used as an insect repellent! As we say, versatile! Packet of 10 seeds.
