From the west of North America comes this vigorous, showy species with strong, reddish stems with narrow pointed, green leaves and bearing terminal, circular clusters of upward facing, narrow funnel-shaped (subhypocrateriform is perhaps more accurate .....) flowers of a colour described (we cheat and combine more than one authors' attempt) as showy orange-to-buff-to-salmon-to-buttermilk-creamy-palest-butterscotch. It can set seed freely and produce numerous plants in the autumn to produce labour-free plants the next year. 1-2 ft.
