The well-known Zinnia, a brilliant plant for the border with beautifully formed flowers on long stems, splendid for cutting. But when did you last grow a packet? The main reason for your neglect, we guess, is that you are probably under the impression that they’re temperamental, tricky plants to raise. They’re not! They’re easy! Forget all you’ve read about them and treat them little more than a sow-and-forget plant. Just sow them where they are to flower (they like a sunny, sheltered position) from the end of April to the end of May when the soil is warming up. Apart from keeping the weeds at bay, just let nature do the rest. If you feel you have to thin out, be careful not to disturb the roots of the plants you are retaining. And in a few short weeks you’ll be able to sit back and admire the colourful results of your hard labours! Don’t just take our word for it – have a go and to make this easy for you we are offering at a special bargain price, a generously filled packet of ZINNIA, Dahlia-Flowered Mixed (Cat. No. 1309F) in a jolly mix of cheerful colours.
Description:
One lesser reason for listing this is to let you all know that “we do requests!” A lady ‘phoned us to tell us she had seen these Zinnias and how marvellous they were. So here they are, a special selection with long, thick, sturdy stems with magnificent, fully double blooms, each four or five inches across. The mix comes in a splendid range of twelve colours, including orange, crimson, purple, scarlet and lilac. (N.B. Zinnia, Benary’s Giant Lime’ (Cat. No. 1310B) is not included in this Mix but is offered separately.) 3 ft.
