This lovely Magnolia is a hybrid between M.kobus and M.stellata combining the best qualities of its parents. It is interesting to note that one of the plants from the original cross made in the first decade of the last century was, it was reported, producing flowers in unbelievable profusion in the sixties. A deciduous shrub or small tree, it bears, you know that spring is here, in April, even on small plants, a multitude of gorgeous, fragrant, white flowers, each with numerous strap-shaped petals.
