Description:
A native wild flower found in lime-free soils in grassy places, heaths, cliffs and the like. It is a delightful little plant with a basal rosette of narrow, pointed leaves from the centre of which rise slender stems, bearing all summer Scabious-like (but, note, from an unrelated family), blue flowers, charming for cutting and lasting well in water. A well-grown specimen can have as many as 200, tiny, typically campanulate flowers. 2-20 ins.
