This is the answer for those who think they don’t like Garlic but are brave enough at least to have a go. The flavour of these is kind of half way between ordinary Chives and your full-blown Garlic; the broad, flat leaves can be used wherever you might use ordinary Chives, or fried where you might use onions. The rest of the plant is edible too the bulbs used like shallots and the flowers as garnish or mild flavouring. But, yet another use, the white flowers, produced in dense flat sprays have a delightful fragrance of old-fashioned roses and are as pretty as any house plant – two or three pots on your kitchen window sill will perfume the whole room.
