Queen Anne's Lace, Wild Carrot, Wildflower of the British Isles seeds
Description:
Yes, indeed the parent of your ever-popular veg. - if it weren't, it would be far more popular as an ornamental garden plant because the dense umbels of white flowers (well, actually, the inner floret of each little umbel is usually coloured purple where, of course, Queen Anne pricked her finger and shed a drop of blood on it) are very ornamental and make a nice cut flower, fresh or dried. Swallowtail butterflies choose it for their caterpillars and bees like it too. Forget the roots as an alternative to the supermarket product but you could always try French-frying the flower clusters as these are said to be a gourmet treat. 3 ft.
