Greater Celandine, Wildflower of the British Isles seeds
Description:
A native wild flower found in hedgerows and on walls, with pinnate foliage and small, bright yellow, Poppy-like flowers, each an inch or so across, which appear from the time the swallow (the names, both English and Latin, derive ultimately from the Greek word for the bird) arrives in spring until it departs in late summer. A good plant for the wild garden where, with luck, it will naturalise itself. Amongst many other herbal uses: "An ointment made of the roots and hogslard is a good remedy for the piles. Boil them together." Please note carefully the positioning of the inverted commas! 1-2 ft.
