Delicious to eat (much grown in northern Italy) and fascinatingly attractive to look at is this unusual Italian strain. The heads are spirally composed of numerous, small, pale green, spinning-top-shaped florets making one large humming-top shape. Vigorous, it can be sown in summer to early autumn for harvesting in autumn-winter – you can pick the individual spinning-tops or the whole humming-top just as you need.
