A fairly common native wild flower found in damp places in woods and meadows with purplish stems and umbels, up to 6 ins. across, of pretty white flowers usually tinged with pink. The stems can be candied as its garden cousin but do, of course, be certain of the plant’s true identity – candied Hemlock might not just be quite as nice! 1-6 ft.
