Please note that it is not essential to Log-in or Register to browse our online Seed Catalogue. All that is necessary is simply to click onto one of the A-Z letters in the Browse Catalogue Alphabetically section in the green panel on the left, or on the Home Page, and all of the seeds listed beginning with that letter will be shown, sorted alphabetically be Genus.
Alternatively, finding and ordering what you want is easy if you follow these simple instructions. To search our site, click in any ONE relevant search box, entering your preferred search name (spelt correctly and without punctuation), then click the 'Go' button adjacent to the box in question.
For example, if the plant has a common English name such as 'poppy', search for this by clicking in the box 'English Name', enter the word 'poppy' from your keyboard, and then click 'Go' alongside. This should bring up all of the items listed in our database that are commonly known as 'poppy'.
Or, if you know the botanical or Latin name of a plant you can search by Genus, e.g. Papaver, by entering the name in the Genus search box and then clicking on the 'Go' button. All of the species and varieties that we list under that Genus will be shown. If your search results do not return that for which you are looking, it could be that the plant is known or listed under an alternative botanical name that may be found by searching the 'Synonym' field. Similarly, searching by plant 'Family Name' such as Papaveraceae will bring up every related genus within that family that we list.
Similarly, entering a Species name e.g. 'orientale' in the relevant box and pressing the 'Go' button will bring up any plants with the same species name, such as Aconitum orientale and Papaver orientale, to name but two.
If you are looking for a particular variety, e.g. 'Beauty of Livermere', try entering the name in the Variety search facility and clicking 'Go' and all of the plants listed with the same varietal name should be found. Our catalogue numbers remain the same from year to year so, even if you have an old edition of our paper catalogue, you can type this number in the 'Catalogue No.' box and bring up the item immediately, provided the item is still listed. For example, typing in 950K will bring up Papaver orientale 'Beauty of Livermere', a poppy. For rapid ordering, entering a catalogue number and clicking 'Buy' will put the item into your shopping basket directly, without the need to read the full catalogue entry.
Finally, a good number of the items in our full range (and particularly the herbs and vegetables) can also be browsed separately in category lists on the left-hand side and also from links on the Home Page. These categories include Herbs, Vegetables (including Organic and Oriental), Wild Flowers, Special Mixtures and Old-fashioned Sweet Peas.
